Maelstrom: Chapter One Cover

EDIT - July 2017: Okay.  So I've been wanting to redraw the Chapter One cover page for a while now. Whenever I would go to update the pages in the "Maelstrom" folder here or on the comic's website, one of the first things I would see is that old Chapter One cover.  And the more I saw it, the more I got to thinking that it was too "meh."  It didn't convey the feel of the chapter that I wanted it to, and it didn't feel like a good intro pic to the character. V.2 here shows that I feel more comfortable with drawing Trenton (and I've got a better grasp on his personality), and it's a better introduction to the overall tone of the story. I also recycled stuff from Chapter Three for background images--stuff I didn't have when I was working on the original Chapter One cover!  The original version hasn't disappeared altogether, though! I'm archiving it in my Scraps for posterity's sake.

And away we go!  I am so very excited for this comic; it's gone through many incarnations and ups and downs since this time last year before finally landing where it is now.  I hope you guys will enjoy it as much as I've enjoyed writing and drawing it!


I finally figured out how to edit the logo after scrounging through my Illustrator class notes!
